DSAT TEC 50
The PADI Tec 50 Diver completes your initial training as a technical diver, taking you past the limits of recreational diving. The PADI Tec 50 Diver picks up where PADI Tec 45 Diver leaves off and takes your training as a technical diver further and deeper by engaging in accelerated decompression using multiple enriched air or oxygen mixes. It is the final subcourse in the full PADI Tec Diver programme.
Course Outline:
The PADI Tec 50 Diver takes place over a minimum of three days. The first day will concentrate on completing the theory sections from the PADI Tec Deep Diver manual.
You will also complete the first confined water training dive in front of our dive center.
The remaining three open water training dives can be scheduled on a weekend.
During your programme you will cover the following:
- The skills and equipment and planning required to dive to a maximum of 50 metres
- The knowledge to plan and execute single and repetitive decompression dives using enriched air nitrox and/or oxygen to accelerate or add conservatism to the decompression stops with no time limit to the amount of decompression
- Prepare for and respond to foreseeable technical diving emergencies
- Make actual decompression dives as deep as 50 metres
- Use desk top decompression software to create custom dive tables and plan your dives
- Qualify to make technical decompression dives independently
You will use full technical diving equipment including multiple stage cylinders during the PADI Tec 50 Diver Programme.
Equipment provided for course: Stage cylinders, Gas & Twinsets
Equipment you should bring: Full SCUBA gear, including wing & harness.
(Rental of the wing, harness and regulators is available for €30)
Entry Requirements:
| • | Certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent. |
| • | Certified as a PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent. |
| • | Certified as a PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent. |
| • | Certified as a PADI Deep Diver or equivalent. |
| Minimum of 100 logged dives | |
| Certified as a PADI DSAT Tec 40 & Tec 45 | |
| • | A Medical signed by a physician within the last 12 months. |
