Technical diving is a step beyond recreational diving. An equipment-intensive and potentially risky pursuit, tech diving allows you to explore beyond the standard limits of recreational diving.
Tech diving can be said to be any type of diving that takes the diver beyond the standard recreational diving limits, defined by depths up to 40m, decompression and overhead environment.
As such, tech diving comprises a range of environments and situations and requires a progressive approach to gaining skills and experience with the knowledge, procedures and equipment required to undertake tech Diving.
We are currently offering the following tech diving programmes:
- Deep Diver
This course is designed to be an introduction to deep diving and to help you develop the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques to safely participate in deep diving activities.
- DSAT Gas Blender
Why DSAT Gas Blender? More people are diving with enriched air and this means the demand for enriched air fills is also increasing. However, there needs to be someone qualified to administer these fills to meet this demand. This is where the DSAT Gas Blender course comes in. It can result in one of two certifications: DSAT Gas Blender or DSAT Trimix Blender.
- SSI Gas Blender
- DSAT Nitrox Driver
This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air ("nitrox") for no stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen.
- Advanced Nitrox
Advanced Nitrox course will develop the fundamental knowledge, equipment familiarity, and skills needed to participate in extended range diving activities
- Technical Foundations
Technical Foundations divers will be trained to utilize singles with H-valves or twinsets, and stage cylinders or pony bottles
- DSAT Tec Deep 40
The DSAT TEC 40 deep diver course is the primary course for technical deep diving beyond recreational diving.
- DSAT Tec Deep 45
The DSAT TEC 45 deep diver course is the primary course for technical deep diving beyond recreational diving.
- DSAT Tec Deep 50
The DSAT TEC 50 deep diver course is the primary course for technical deep diving beyond recreational diving.
- Decompression Procedures
Decompression Procedures. During this course you will learn to function as a member of a deep dive team and to plan and execute dives requiring more extended stage decompression
- Advanced Decompression Procedures
Advanced Decompression Procedures This course examines strategies for accelerated decompression using 2 or more stage cylinders
- SSI Normoxic Trimix
SSI Normoxic Trimix
- DSAT Tec Trimix 65
The PADI Tec Trimix 65 Diver is intended to extend the depth range of technical divers already trained and qualified to use air, enriched air and oxygen for technical decompression dives beyond 50 metres.
- DSAT Tec Trimix Diver
For the extreme diver ready to further explore the world of technical deep diving, the gas of choice is trimix.
